I. Foreword

The deep meaning of holding the Flower Exhibition is to arouse citizens’ attention and participation in green life environment. In terms of the Flower Exhibition which is about to take place, it is estimated that more than 6 millions of people will visit our city during the 6-months of exhibition period. Through the international activity of Flower Exhibition, we hope to facilitate international exchanges, promote industrial developments and arouse people’s concern about life space, so as to construct Taipei to be a garden city through citizens’ participation and welcome the coming of the Flower Exhibition collectively.

For this purpose, we brook no delay to activate urban landscape reconstruction and citizens’ cognitive awareness. The government will integrate the power from public and private sectors, to promote “the Promotion Plan of Taipei Garden City” jointly on the existing basis of greenification. By establishing various types of demonstrative points of greenification reconstruction gradually carried out and extended from the focal improvement areas of Flower Exhibition to the entire city, we will undertake the plans of demonstrative and observational reconstruction. Also, by means of forming professional service teams to guide the work of reconstruction, organizing the volunteer teams for greenification who will receive proper trainings of knowledge and skills, and mobilizing households to participate jointly in the work of greenification and so on, we will enhance unban green landscape comprehensively, to form the trend of greenification for citizens, so as to promote the movement of whole city greenification

II. Planned Range

1. Key Points in the Flower Exhibition (shown as Picture 1 and Picture 2)

　One Zone - close to the hot zone of the site of Flower Exhibition
　Two Axes - Chungshan S. Road and N. Road, as well as MinZu E. Rd. and W. Rd
　Three Routes - ChengDe Rd (the entry of Flower Exhibition), JianGuo N.Rd (super highway), Mincyuan E. Rd and W. Rd (airport)
　Four Node Points - Node points of sightseeing/tourism, node points of commerce and shopping, node points of focal MRT stations, and node points of road/traffic pivots

2. Movement of Whole City Greenification

　　The spatial greenification reconstruction will be undertaken based on the five types—“community, school, commercial area, market, and office building”. Also, the image of Flower Exhibition will be shaped and created on the important roads and in the parks in the city, and the citizens’ habit of greenification will be cultivated
